Alpha Test Program Two on cannel coal (about 76% of the 18.6Mt resource) lifted maximum conversion to 39.0wt% at 365C, from 24.8wt% in Program One. Asphaltenes reached up to 6.5wt%, with under 1% gas. Program Three is under way; these are lab tests, not a PFS.
Astro reports assays from the two holes Greenvale drilled in 2022 at Georgina. Leichhardt West returned 0.22% copper over 0.25m and 0.15% copper at the end of the hole, with elevated bismuth and silver. Astro says this may be the edge of an IOCG system. Leichhardt East assays are pending.
Astro, now 80% owner of Georgina, completed its first hole at Leichhardt East to 699.8m, finding ironstones, IOCG-style alteration and bornite and chalcopyrite copper minerals. Greenvale retains 20%. Assays are not yet reported; the geology is encouraging but no grades are given.
Astro Resources says it has signed definitive documents to buy 80% of Knox, which holds the Georgina Basin IOCG project, on terms matching 1 June. Completion needs Astro shareholder approval, expected around early November 2022. Counterparty-side release of the Greenvale announcement.
Second hole, Leichhardt West, reached 600.8m with alteration and veining indicating a hydrothermal system, and minor chalcopyrite at 401.8m. Assays are pending. The rig has left and drilling is paused until the sale of 80% of Georgina to Astro completes.
First Banks hole reached 550m, finding IOCG-style hematite alteration in basement from 290.6m and trace chalcopyrite at about 303m and 497m. Assays are pending. Drilling has moved to Leichhardt West. Early, encouraging signs only, not a discovery.
Diamond drilling has restarted at Georgina's central tenements: two holes totalling 1,100m at Banks (500m) and Leichhardt West (600m), about 42 days. Greenvale also won two NTGS co-funding grants worth up to $253k and was granted small tenement EL32964.
Assays from the two Twin Peaks holes show elevated multi-element geochemistry, including trace gold in KNRDD002 and copper-bismuth-molybdenum in KNRDD004. The next diamond drilling is set for May at the shallower Mawson and Banks targets in EL32295.
Alpha's maiden JORC resource is out: 18.6Mt inferred at 179 L/t, or 21.29M barrels of synthetic oil, including 4.6Mt of torbanite. It ends the overdue wait since Q4 2021. Greenvale also applied for four geothermal licences as part of a renewable energy strategy.
Second Twin Peaks hole KNRDD004 reached 900.9m, extended beyond its 750m design, with hematite-altered rocks like the first hole. Total drilled is 1,697m. Assays are due Jan-Feb 2022. Greenvale was also named successful applicant for licences covering two government drill holes.
First Twin Peaks West hole KNRDD002 finished at 796.6m, extended ~80m after veining and alteration seen from 720m. It shows oxidised Tennant Creek-style IOCG alteration and trace native copper at ~732.5m. No assays yet; a second hole is underway.
Maiden 3,000m diamond drilling began at Georgina's Twin Peaks West target, after slipping from the September start. Greenvale is the second junior to drill in the East Tennant region. First hole assays are expected late December or early January 2022.
Maiden drilling and a 12,618 line-km airborne survey have started at Georgina. The campaign is four exploration holes at 'Twin Peaks' plus a water bore. First drilling on Greenvale's own Georgina ground; no results yet.
Georgina's maiden drilling is set for about 15 September, with four diamond holes planned at the 'Twin Peaks' targets, where gravity anomalies now coincide with magnetic ones. The Alpha feasibility study slips to March 2022 after COVID-related border delays; earlier guidance was late 2021.
Alpha core drilling is complete: 62 holes, 2,195m, on time and on budget. Greenvale will skip the planned pre-feasibility study and go straight to a definitive feasibility study, due late 2021, saving time. This changes the earlier mid-2021 PFS timetable.
Preliminary government-funded NDI drilling results (10 deep holes, ~4,000m) show geology suited to large copper-gold deposits near Greenvale's 4,475 sq km Georgina tenements; two holes lie adjacent. Greenvale is still reviewing the data. No drilling on its own ground yet.
Greenvale starts a $1.5M three-stage drilling and bulk sampling program at Alpha (51 chip holes, 20-25 core holes, 4-6 large-diameter holes). It aims to support a first JORC resource/reserve and a pre-feasibility study by end of June 2021.
Gold Basin maiden JORC Inferred Resource: 299,800 oz at 1.12 g/t (0.5 g/t cut-off), or 360,900 oz at 0.84 g/t (0.25 cut-off), at Cyclopic and Stealth. It is shallow (0-50m) and open in all directions. This resolves the long-delayed resource.
Gold Basin's maiden JORC resource is almost complete and expected within two weeks, covering the Cyclopic, Stealth and PLM deposits with recent and historical drilling. The date has slipped from the end of June. No resource figures yet.
Gold Basin drilling (33 holes, about 2,500m) hit gold in 9 of 10 holes along the Cyclopic fault, including 12.2m at 1.47 g/t and 19.8m at 0.90 g/t. A maiden JORC resource is expected at end of June.
SRK estimates recoverable oil from Alpha's lower seam at 9.2 to 21.6 million barrels, best estimate 15.4 million, under a proposed well plan. This builds on the earlier 33.4 million barrel in-situ prospective resource. The next step is a contingent resource study.
Gold Basin drilling began mid-March, with about 900m of a planned 2,400m done in 11 vertical RC holes. Altered rock and quartz veining are reported at the target fault zone. No assays yet; results to be reported later.
SRK's independent report on Alpha gives a Prospective Resource (unrisked) for in-situ shale oil, in broad agreement with earlier estimates; volumes are not given in this text. The company may relinquish the Madre EPMs and is reviewing gold projects in Egypt and Ghana.
Review of old test work suggests Alpha shale suits a bitumen-led product mix (about 59% bitumen, 40% fuels), with spent shale possibly sold as activated carbon. A new scoping study and infill drilling are planned to move from Exploration Target towards a JORC resource. No resource is stated.
Alpha has insufficient data for a JORC 2012 resource, so it is classed only as an Exploration Target. The board decides to define and, if feasible, develop it, starting with a new survey and scoping study. Renewal of the licence for five years is sought.
March 2014 quarter: partner QER restated Nagoorin and Lowmead under SPE-PRMS rules. Nagoorin 2C is 946M barrels and 3C 2,234M (Greenvale 67%); Lowmead 3C is 671M (50%). Knauer joined the board; QER's plant investor process continues.
Solvent technology tests on one Nagoorin and three Lowmead samples gave 400 and 358 litres a tonne versus about 119 and 116 by Fischer Assay. If applied across both deposits, Nagoorin's 2.65 billion barrels could exceed 8.8 billion. Company stresses results are preliminary.
Re-release of the same 11 September joint announcement under the Esperance Minerals heading: solvent tests gave 400 and 358 litres a tonne at Nagoorin and Lowmead, versus about 119 and 116 by Fischer Assay. Preliminary; no new information.
