Sabre terminates the PELA 679 farmout because it could not secure committed funding. Vintage is still to acquire 100% once a land access agreement with the Dieri is in place; that condition is unmet and talks continue.
Partner Metgasco re-releases Vintage's phase 2 Production Uplift results: Vali-2 Toolachee flowing up to 0.25 MMscf/d, Vali-1 Toolachee not flowing, and total output 2.4 MMscf/d. No new information beyond Vintage's own release.
Phase 2 began 24 September. Vali-2's Toolachee zone is flowing up to 0.25 MMscf/d with water; Vali-1's Toolachee still did not flow, and Vali-3 work awaits equipment in November. Total output is 2.4 MMscf/d, below the 2.9 after phase 1. Costs remain within budget.
Phase 1 of the Production Uplift Program found scale more widespread than known, at Odin-1, Odin-2, Odin facility and Vali-2. Raw gas rose to 2.9 MMscf/d from 2.5. Opening Vali-1's Toolachee zone gave no measurable gas. Phase 2 follows; cash is $1.9m.
Mobilisation begins for the Production Uplift Program at Odin and Vali, with work over about six weeks, mostly in August, finishing by early September. Modelled uplift is 2.1-5.6 MMscf/d against a current 3.2 MMscf/d.
First reserves booking for Odin lifts Vintage's net 2P reserves 45% to 12.6 MMboe (sales gas and ethane 70.9 PJ) at 30 June 2024. Odin's 2P is 4.0 MMboe. Net 2C resources fall to 47 PJ from 66 PJ as Odin volumes convert.
Vintage's own version, re-issued at ASX request with formation depths and maps added, confirms Odin-2 gas pay in the Toolachee, Epsilon and Patchawarra sandstones. It will be cased and suspended; gas could flow this winter, subject to JV approval.
Metgasco reports Odin-2 logged gas pay in all three main targets (preliminary net pay 11 m Toolachee, 3 m Epsilon, 45 m Patchawarra). It will be cased as a future producer; gas could flow this winter, subject to JV approval.
Odin-2 reached total depth of 3,172 m, with target formations as expected and gas shows in several formations. Wireline logging will show whether the shows are significant, so no result yet.
Metgasco (25% partner) repeats that Odin-2 reached 3,172 m with gas shows in several formations; wireline logs will determine their significance. Nothing beyond Vintage's release.
Odin-2 spudded 15 May at 2:00pm, 1.1 km from Odin-1, targeting a depth of 3,156 m over about 3-4 weeks. This is the appraisal well funded by the April-May raising; if successful, gas goes to the Pelican Point contract.
Joint venture partner Metgasco (25%) repeats the operator's update: Odin-2 spud on or shortly after 12 May, 3-4 weeks to drill, with first gas targeted within 3 months of spud if successful. Rain may delay. Repeats Vintage's 9 May news.
The SLR 184 rig has reached the Odin-2 site, 1.1 km north-east of Odin-1, and is rigging up. Spud is expected on or shortly after 12 May, subject to rig acceptance and rainfall.
Access to the Odin-2 site is restored and civil works are under way. The well is now scheduled to spud late in the week of 6 May, with drilling expected to take 3 to 4 weeks.
Vintage will farm out 50% of Cooper Basin permit PELA 679 to private company Sabre Energy, which funds a 150 km2 3D seismic survey and pays $200,000. Vintage keeps 50%. Subject to title grant, land access agreement and other conditions.
Heavy Cooper Basin rain has blocked access, so the Odin-2 spud is now expected in May, about a month later than the 27 March presentation said. Odin-1 and Vali-1 continue producing in line with trends.

The purchase of Beach Energy's 15% of PRL 211 is complete. Vintage holds 50% and operator, Bridgeport 25% and Metgasco 25%. This closes the thread opened on 29 March, with no new terms.
Metgasco's version of the PRL 211 ministerial approval. Its net share of Odin 2C rises 0.77 Bcf to 8.77 Bcf, and it pays $562,500 for a further 3.75%. Repeats Vintage's news.
Ministerial approval received for buying Beach Energy's 15% of PRL 211, announced 29 March. Vintage now holds 50% and operator, Bridgeport 25%, Metgasco 25%. Odin-1 is to be completed as a gas producer in the coming well campaign.
Cervantes-1 reached total depth and found no hydrocarbons; all potential reservoir sands are water-wet, so the well will be plugged and abandoned. A dry hole for the 15.3 million barrel (gross) prospect, ending the Cervantes thread.
Weekly update: Cervantes-1 reached 2,050 m on 5 April, drilling toward the Permian targets. Prognosed total depth is 2,370 m. No safety incidents and no COVID-19 impact on drilling.
Fracture stimulation began at Vali-2 on 3 April, then Vali-3, taking about 42 days. It precedes completing all three wells for AGL sales. Processing and tie-in agreements are said to be near execution.
Metgasco's version of the Vali stimulation start: about 42 days across Vali-2 and Vali-3, followed by well completions. Repeats Vintage's announcement; nothing new.
Cervantes-1 spudded on 26 March in the Perth Basin, targeting three Lower Permian zones to 2,370 m. Prospect holds 15.3 million barrels gross (4.6 million net) at a 28% chance of success. Drilling should take about 16 days.
Ensign 970 rig is mobilising to the Cervantes-1 site, about 7 days before spud. Target is 15.3 million barrels gross (4.6 million net) at a 28% chance of success. Vintage says its share of costs is funded.
Regulatory approval received and the Ensign 970 rig contracted for Cervantes-1 in the Perth Basin. Spud is planned for the latter half of March. Vintage earns 30% by funding 50% of the well; it says it is fully funded.
