Victoria says Eagle North-1 logs indicate oil in the Gatchell sand, 7 metres net pay in a 21 metre interval (4,136-4,157 m), resembling Mary Bellocchi-1. It will be cased and tested over about 8 days; a horizontal side-track could flow up to 1,000 bopd. Oil not yet flowed.
Mirage-2 logging is complete and the well will be cased as a potential Murta oil producer, with a short flow test to follow. Preliminary core oil saturations remain similar to producing Mirage-1. First of three development wells; no flow rate yet.
Mirage-2 reached total depth of 1,655 metres, short of the 1,687 metre plan, and is being logged. The earlier preliminary Murta oil shows (1,322-1,337 m) are repeated; logs and core analysis will test them. Gross production is quoted at 380 bopd.
Victoria reports Eagle North-1 reached total depth of 4,219 metres and is pulling out to run wireline logs on the gas show; results are expected in 12-18 hours. Oil is still unconfirmed.
Sun Resources reports Eagle North-1 reached total depth of 4,219 metres and is being logged to assess the 4,167-4,175 metre gas show. Log results are expected within 24 hours, then a JV decision on testing.
Eagle North-1 is at 4,184 metres after hitting the Gatchell sand at 4,162 metres with a gas show but no oil fluorescence. Wireline logs are due at total depth within 24-48 hours. Oil is still unconfirmed.
Enterprise Energy repeats the operator's Geordie-1 report: 1,710 metres, 683 metres drilled in 24 hours, Hutton units expected by Thursday. Nothing new.
Mirage-2 is drilling ahead at 1,595 metres toward 1,687 metres. The earlier preliminary oil shows in the Murta cores are repeated; logs and core analysis will test them. Nothing new.
Sun Resources repeats Victoria's Eagle North-1 update: target Gatchell sand hit at 4,162 metres with a gas show, no oil fluorescence, drilling to total depth. Logs needed to judge oil. Nothing new.
Enterprise Energy repeats the operator's Geordie-1 report: 1,027 metres, 263 metres drilled in 24 hours, heading to the Birkhead/Hutton target. Nothing new.
Operator reports Geordie-1 drilling ahead at 1,027 metres after testing blowout preventers; the Hutton target is expected Thursday. Victoria holds 10%. No result yet.
Mirage-2 is at 1,537 metres, changing the bit before drilling to 1,687 metres. The two Murta cores (1,322-1,337 m) still show preliminary oil saturations similar to Mirage-1; logs and core analysis will test this. Gross output is quoted at 400 bopd.
Victoria repeats the operator's Geordie-1 update: drilling ahead at 1,027 metres, with the prospect background restated. Victoria holds 10%. No result yet.
Eagle North-1 hit the target Gatchell sandstone at 4,162 metres, as seismic predicted, with a gas increase at 4,167-4,175 metres. No oil fluorescence was seen, which Victoria attributes to drilling conditions. Logs at about 4,220 m total depth will decide.
Victoria confirms Geordie-1 (PEL 88, Cooper Basin) began drilling 10 Feb, first of its planned eight 2006 Cooper exploration wells. Target depth 2,600 m, about 20 days. Victoria holds 10%; mean 7.5 million barrels if oil is present.
Sundance repeats that Geordie-1 spudded 10 February and is at 754 metres, with 18-23 days expected to drill and evaluate. It cites 7.5 million barrels mean recoverable and a 15% chance of success. Victoria holds 10%.
Impress says Mirage-2 found an oil-saturated Murta section similar to producing Mirage-1, with oil indications from 1,322 to 1,337 metres in two cores. The well will be drilled to about 1,620 metres, then completed. Early positive sign for the development program.
Victoria reports oil shows in two Murta cores at Mirage-2 (1,322-1,337 metres), preliminarily similar to producing Mirage-1. Logs and core analysis will test their significance. Drilling continues at 1,374 metres toward 1,687 metres. Quoted gross output is now 400 barrels a day.
Enterprise Energy repeats the operator's Geordie-1 report: spudded 10 February, 754 metres, testing blow-out preventers. First reservoir zone is expected about seven days after spud. Victoria holds 10%. Nothing new.
Sun Resources reports Eagle North-1 at 4,136 metres, with the target and total depth of 4,206 metres expected within 5-6 hours, after which logging and coring follow. No oil result yet.
